Morning

Start your day at Old Economy Village in Ambridge, a National Historic Landmark and the final home of the Harmony Society, a German communal group. Interpreters in Harmonist dress will take visitors through the 17 carefully restored structures built between 1825 and 1830. This 19th century Christian communal society is best known for its piety, celibacy and industrial prosperity. Visitors tour the restored structures and gardens that reflect the unusual lifestyle of the society.

Lunch

Lunch at Greg Powell’s Rivertowne Restaurant overlooking the beautiful Beaver River and marina. Enjoy traditional and eclectic menu items from an award-winning chef.

Afternoon

After a relaxing lunch, visit the Merrick Art Galley in New Brighton to view more than 200 paintings from the American Hudson River School and European Romantic Period. Next stop is the Air Heritage Museum located at the Beaver County Airport in Chippewa Township. This aircraft restoration and working museum specializes in World War II planes and artifacts.

Dinner/Evening

Visit Shakespeare’s Restaurant & Pub at Olde Stonewall Golf Club south of Ellwood City. Built to resemble a 16th century castle, Shakespeare’s offers an American style cuisine with a casual medieval theme. Afterward, take in a show at the Red Barn Theatre located just minutes away in Fombell. Or, visit the Wooden Angel for great steaks, outstanding rack of lamb, fresh fish and one of the best wine lists in the world! Afterward, take a walk down Third Street, the main street in Beaver and enjoy window shopping at the many quaint and unique stores.
