Morning
Begin your day at the Tour-Ed Mine and Museum. Here you’ll observe the workings of an underground coal and strip mine operation. Don’t miss the Museum’s Company Store, a 1785 log house and sawmill. Take a walking tour of historic Downtown Kittanning nd stroll through the beautiful Riverfront Park, along the Allegheny River. The park features winding walkways and scenic river views. A central feature is the John P. Murtha Amphitheatre, which seats 1,000 for a variety of entertainment events.
Lunch
Lunch along the river at the Allegheny Mariner in Kittanning, where the food is delicious and the view is magnificent. After lunch, stop by the Mulberry Street Creamery and sample award-winning Italian gelato.
Afternoon
Tour Mountain Trails Baskets, offering a variety of baskets entirely hand-crafted on site. Watch America’s best baskets being made. And don’t forget to visit the gift shop.
