The world will be watching September 24 and 25 when world leaders come to town for the Pittsburgh Summit. On this new website, journalists from around the world are invited to learn more about Pittsburgh's economic and environmental transformation. 06/17/2009 VisitPittsburgh Social Network Campaign Scores PITTSBURGH – Nearly 1,400 fans were added to VisitPittsburgh’s page on Facebook in just two weeks. On May, 29, VisitPittsburgh launched a Pittsburgh Penguins Contest that ran until the last game day of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, June 12. To enter, users simply needed to become “fans” of VisitPittsburgh’s page on Facebook.

The rally was organized to raise awareness about proposed state funding cuts to the travel and tourism industry that will have broad implications for the Pittsburgh region’s job market and economy.

01/15/2009 VisitPittsburgh Spearheads MLK Annual Food Drive PITTSBURGH - In recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration this month, VisitPittsburgh and local hotels, businesses and organizations are participating in the 2009 Hospitality Food Drive. The annual food drive, which runs through January 30, benefits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The goal for 2009 is to collect 5,000 lbs. of food to serve thousands of needy individuals.
