The company performs both the traditional ballets of legendary masters and new works by innovative contemporary choreographers.

Also performing at the Benedum Center and the Byham Theater, the Pittsburgh Dance Council is one of the area's leading contemporary dance presenters. For more than 30 years Pittsburgh Dance Council has offered its nationally-recognized presenting series. PDC regularly commissions new work from choreographers and composers. The UMOJA African Arts Company has an exuberant style that has enlivened the stages of many Pittsburgh venues. Their name is synonymous with the explosive beats, insistent rhythms and haunting melodies of African music, drumming and dance.

Dance Alloy is a chamber group of seasoned performing artists, whose background and training allows them to meet both the technical and theatrical demands of the diverse repertoire the company presents. The company performs two main stage home seasons a year at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty and the New Hazlett Theater on the North Shore in the spring and the fall.
